Today, we’re introducing a new feature that will make it simple to publish and view videos on Substack.
With this feature—currently in private beta—you can upload or record videos directly into a Substack post. You can then make videos available to everyone or only paid subscribers. The videos will be playable directly on the web in your Substack post, and they will appear in the email versions as clickable images.
As with everything on Substack, you own all of the content and it’s connected to a mailing list that you fully own and control.
Below are some examples of how writers are using the new video feature:
At Substack, our process is to build with writers. To that end, we're rolling this feature out in private beta, which will allow our product team to get feedback from a group of writers before we launch it to everyone.
If you’d like to try this new video feature on your publication now, fill out this form to request to join the beta test.
We’ll be rolling out video to everyone in the coming weeks. To learn more about how video works, please visit the Help Center.
