Today, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve added a new member to the Substack team. Fiona Monga (née Brown) joins us from Instagram to work on partnerships.
Fiona has a pretty broad remit – we’re still just a four-person team, so she will cover a lot of ground – but she’ll especially be focused on bringing writers into the Substack community and helping them succeed.
Fiona adds a lot of strength to Substack. At Instagram, she led a communications team focused on global programs and audience development, for which she worked with influential creators around the world. Prior to that, she was an early hire at the live storytelling company Pop-Up Magazine Productions, publisher of Pop-Up Magazine and California Sunday, where she led communications and marketing. Earlier in her career, she worked in senior publicity roles at Penguin Random House and Little, Brown, which included leading PR for James Patterson, the world’s bestselling author.
We’re building the Substack team to help writers, make a great product, and continue to develop a media ecosystem based on aligned incentives between readers, writers, and the platform.
Does that sound like something you’re into?
