What categories are we missing? We are listening and hope to discover a few new categories on tour too!
I encourage you to RSVP to the category stop that feels closest to your writing. There is a field to share the category name that feels more relevant to your Substack.

None of the categories feel like a fit for my “Colorado Mountain Running & Living.” I would like to be a part of one on Health/Wellness, Outdoors/Environment or Lifestyle.
I completely agree. Climate is more of a global issue. Whereas the environment tends to be more local. I don't write on the topic, but for individuals, I think the environment is a better selling point in this idea than climate.
Faith is one thing, but I think maybe spirituality deserves its own category? I wouldn't call what I write about necessarily about faith, but spirituality seems right. Maybe I'm losing the forest for the trees here but still.
I agree. It looks like there are more of "us" out there than I thought. My "Short and Sweet Spirituality" shares my lifetime (85 years) of Synchronicities. Bette R
I agree that spirituality ought to be a category, and that "faith" doesn't necessarily fit at all with "parenting" and "education." Perhaps a Spirituality and Religions (plural intended) that would include Faith, Recovery, Belief Systems, Agnosticism and Atheism
This is fair though potentially overly expansive to start? I've seen some talk and participated in it about distinguishing environment and climate. I think environment and spirituality would fit well together.
I also feel I don't fit in any, so what about something that takes into account "non sense" or authors challenging the status quo? Or those being creative, mixing up personal journey with spirituality, including art and culture and even science but from a perspective of self growth and activism? Change-makers?
Also how cool it'd be to have a space for non-english speaking newsletters!
So much looking forward to this though, thank you team!
I invite you to pick one that feels closest and in the RSVP form, add more specificity in the field provided. My hope is on this tour we discover some new categories. As always, shoutout is a mix of everyone too.
This looks really cool! Appreciate all the opportunities the Substack team is creating for us to connect with other writers. Looking forward to discovering and collaborating with fellow culture writers.
Grateful for the tour, Katie. My Substack is non-fiction storytelling, sharing real stories on identity with details changed for anonymity. I write about what it means to be human, flawed and real. Which category would you put me in?
How about Independent Musicians? Music is such a vast category - though I dont just write about music anyway, who would? we're all human at this incredibly strange time
You may be missing Technology, Programming and A.I. ~ Lumping in Crypto and Tech with Business is super weird for me (if you care about a young male audience).
Thanks for your feedback! When it comes time for the breakout rooms at time events, writers will be split up based on more specific categories like tech, programming, and A.I.

ME TOO
Fashion! Just started a fashion blog covering past and present designers in the culture.
I'd love to see an 'environment' tag. Climate is the big environmental issue but it's not the only environmental issue worth writing about.

Would definitely be interested in a spirituality category. Mindfulness, impermanence and interbeing. Stuff like that.

So glad to "meet" you, Bette. I hope Substack recognizes older writers have much to contribute.

I’m not really involved in the discussion. Just making a suggestion as an observer.
Fair enough. I don't mean to detract from what you said, I'm glad to see you adding to the discussion!
Are there enough poets on here to justify a poetry category?

Well see you on tour, Kate!
I'm excited for the March 18th music stop! I love the ways Substack is trying to connect all of us. Hope it's standing room only! :)
Grateful for the tour, Katie. My Substack is non-fiction storytelling, sharing real stories on identity with details changed for anonymity. I write about what it means to be human, flawed and real. Which category would you put me in?
Hi Elle, you might join us for stop 2 with culture writers.
Great idea! looking forward to it
What a great idea! I've already met a ton of fiction Substackers and am looking forward to connecting with other comics writers on the 25th!
See there!
I'm in! Always looking for new ways to connect and collaborate. If anyone is interested, let's chat and multiply our force ~

This sounds great, looking forward to it!
I write about Chinese podcasts, which category should I choose?
Maybe culture? Does that feel right to you?
I think my content is a mixture of culture and news😂
This sounds fantastic! Just a heads up.

Lifestyle discovery and improvement!!
I thank the Substack team for this opportunity.
So sorry I won't be able to join the science/ climate (+news and sports) session. It's at 2am for me and I'm not a night owl...
We hope to have more times in the future!
Psychology & current events would be welcome (though I guess you could call news, current events) ....or how about an Everything else category?
