I write stories from my life about infertility, mental health, and adventure at www.lizexplores.com. I’d love to connect with others who write about those topics! Collaboration is a great way to expand our readership. 😄

Substack boosted my spirits at a time when I was struggling to reach anybody on the Internet with my blog. Battling SEO felt impossible; I didn't have the resources and optimising my articles for SEO drained the creativity and personality out of my writing. I was also dying to read more human, personal writing because all I found were SEO-fied articles by content marketers.

I was about to give up when Substack came along. It enabled me not just to find people who will actually DROP COMMENTS below my essay - blog post comments were nearly IMPOSSIBLE to come by in the days when I was trying to reach people via Google SEO search. Substack honestly helped me find a community here. And now I have a deluge of personal essays to read, which is both a blessing and a problem lol.

Eventually, I hope to host a meetup of Substack writers. I have no idea if that could happen as I live in distant Malaysia and most Substack writers are based in the US or Europe. But I've found a few Malaysians here, which I thought was an impossibility before. I hope more Malaysian authors would create Substacks so that we will be more of a presence here and can at least fill a table at a cafe lol.

I think I may have accidentally held a huge Substack hangout/"speed dating" sesh. 😆

I just wanted to create a space for people to be found and find "their people" and decided to try out the "thread" post for the first time.

It's still going after a few weeks and the comments are almost at over 500. (Which is huge for my publication that hasn't even hit 400 subscribers).

Wow. I’m new here and There are so many ways to connect with people on here. I never thought about doing collaborations on here. That would be pretty cool.

I write about what I’m learning as I get older. That can be any random thing, but right now it seems to be steadily about growth. And I want to start writing fiction as well. I’m excited to write and I’m excited to gain a community on here.
