With over 470 stories in my archive, plus new short fiction daily, I'd say my Roulette Weal is a damn good gift. E.Jean Carroll says my story Grandmaster is " BRILLIANT". The consistent output should inspire anyone who finds it hard to publish on a regular basis.
Subscribe to https://fictionistas.substack.com/ for a listing of great writers (including me) producing a wide range of work, from choose-your-adventure to serialized science fiction.
It's not a paid substack, but practical.substack.com is written by Tony Tost, a working writer (he created the series "Damnation") and also won the 2003 Walt Whitman Award for best first book of American poetry. He doesn't post a lot, but when he does he offers in-depth advice with a clarity you don't generally find. It's like a Master's Class in how to be a working TV writer.
I was going to say, "Story Club," but you listed it already. I could give a few suggestions that aren't specific to the writing life exactly, but could be useful. Generally, I find that reading good writers is useful no matter what they write about. Ha, they're not paid, but Substack's Grow and What to Read might qualify.
What's going on in the writer's mind interviewing and reviewing rock stars? Well-told stories in Critical Conditions by Wayne Robins. It was free for six months and the first 100,000 words. Now offering optional paid/gift subscriptions for the deeply engaged who want to support quality writing on music, memoir, and recovery.
Profoundly important for Century 21 and thrilling by all your cross-cultural selections here and abroad. BRAVO Substack !!!!!! Also check my page https://frenchbulldogtimes.com/
