Pretty much all true. But there’s more to it, and subscriber models even somewhat fix the growing censorship, shadow banning and throttling effects. But associated issues of exposure, promotion, discovery and virality remain unaddressed and equally problematic. That’s a capital J journalism conundrum, even if individual or smaller scale revenue issues can be alleviated with subscriber models.
