I'm interested, but I'm also a little apprehensive. I've hosted Meetups before, but it was difficult to get people to attend. Having a committed group would be important for me, because I have a disability that makes this extra-tiring for me. I'd want to know that if I use up spoons planning, getting ready, and driving to a location, that I won't be wasting my time.
I’d love to host a half day retreat by the coast in Northumberland, UK. I’ve already got the perfect venue! Our nearest town is on the east coast mainline by rail it’s really easy to get here. ✨✍️
Definitely interested to host a meet up in the NYC area. Other commenters have raised questions about whether the location needs to be approved BEFORE applying to be a host. Is this correct?
This is so exciting! I've been telling friends in Lisbon about how much I love Substack. I will definitely give this some thought! The only thing better than a vibrant and kind online writing community is a real life one :)
Interesting. I doubt there'd be enough Substack writers in my area (Dumfries, Scotland) to be viable. I run a local creative writing group and am involved in other events (e.g. I have a meeting next week to discuss a regular spoken word event in a pub, with live musical accompaniment, and another meeting with a reader development librarian about how I can fit in with their programme). We're not short of great venues in Dumfries - I've even just started a part-time job as a cinema projectionist at the Robert Burns Centre, which is brilliant, and the venue is regularly used for private finctions (apparently Dirty Dancing is popular at hen parties, along with Magic Mike and Grease!). But we'd need more Substackers in south Scotland to make such a specialist a meet-up viable.
Oh, I'm fairly new here, but I was surprised at how many posts I'd done, and how much fun it was!
Will anyone be in the Veneto area of Northern Italy the first three weeks of November? After that, I'm traveling and will be back in Veneto February 1, so we could meet up then, if that works better.
We are in Treviso, about 20 km NE of Venice. I write about mental health in support of neurodiverse couples in which one partner is autistic.
I live in New York City and would love to host a local group. I love controversy and respect honest debate. I have a deep understanding of political issues, and as a retired social worker, I have excellent people skills.
Would love to connect IRL with Substackers in New York City. In 2024, I intend to start hosting meetups focusing on Marshall McLuhan's 'Understanding Media'.
Host a writer meetup
We recently had a substack writers meet up in Dublin, and it was a great occasion: https://substack.com/@shaneomara/note/c-41074437?r=k1bn
I would highly recommend holding one.

I'd love to find a Denver/Boulder group to host or meet up with! :)
Anyone in the SF Bay Area interested in a meetup?

I'd like to host one in S.W. London

I'm located in the Twin Cities (Minnesota) and would love to meet up with other substackers!
I would love to host one, I love being people together. Would there be Substack people around Córdoba/Malaga in the south of Spain?

How about Toronto Canada?
If anyone lives in Austin, I'd love to meet! Always looking for more creatives in my area - would also help to get to know the city more.
