How about a dark mode? I want bright during the day and dark during night.

i would love to have better analytics. Example, Unique views, Unique opens, and Unique Clicks. Readers have been getting emails via phone, desktop, etc. and it is counting it as multiple opens, when it really is not. I've asked them directly are they opening it up 18 times. Lastly, when someone unsubscribes, I like to know who it is vs. just disappearing so I can send a feedback form. Right now I have to download the list every week and compare lists. Not a good use of time.

Looking forward for more analytics and segmenting to empower Substackers! That would be fantastic! <3

That's fantastic news! I have just started with Substack and excited to read this!

That's an amazing news. When you say "filter" it means that we will be able to work better on segmentation of our audience?

Hey team,

The one feature that I want is the ability to create a 'series' of posts. For example I am writing posts on creating innovative Python Projects. It would be great if I can get the ability to group all similar posts in a series called 'Python Projects' and share it with my peers and subscribers. Additionally it would be great if I can customize the navigation bar as well. At present I don't think this feature exists in SubStack

Same. I want a welcome sequence for onboarding new subscribers, to set the scene.

Hi - is it possible to edit font color within an a post? Thnx.

I'm interested in this, too, because my email's newsletter's font color is gray (on a white background). It's legible, but does not stand out well.

I suspect this is because I changed the "Theme Settings'" colors under the "Branding" section. Do I need to go back to the default colors in order to change the email font color to black?

Gifs, and the ability to embed links in comment text? PLEASE?

There's a message that appears within and at the end of my Substack posts: "Thanks for reading Michael’s Substack! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work." I would like to revise that message:

1. To eliminate it within the post; and

2. To revise the wording at the end of the post.

Could you tell me how to do that?

I have the same question.

This is great — I would love to be able to adjust font size a bit, especially on threads.

I find it a little tiny and have to use my reader view on my phone. Hopefully, they’ll allow us to adjust it.

How does this affect what emails look like?

Emails sent to Fastmail don't have my selected fonts. Is this a known (and fixable) issue?

I am a complete newbie, having just published my first post less than 24 hours ago. So far, so good, but I am curious whether I should be adding relevant hashtags at the very end of each post like many people do on Instagram. I am clear about adding three hashtags to the overall account, but I am wondering about best practices for each post. Please enlighten me. Thanks for your help in advance.

I am in the same boat. Still struggling to get audience after the first post.

Hey Substack nation. I would like to change how my posts appear in the outgoing email. I.E., cut off the post so a reader will have to click to jump into my substack to finish reading. Is that possible? Am I missing something? Many thanks.

What I want is simple. The ability to have rich embeds EXACTLY like Revue or Medium. I'm not talking rich embed media like YouTube and Twitter. You have that already.

Just enter in the full URL of an article on the web and we get a small (or large) embedded card that I can edit the headline and copy. For me, this is the killer feature missing.

Hello everyone. I just started writing here on substack and it's been tough navigating. Please subscribe to my Newsletter and also check out my works. Thank you

Also maybe unintended, but the highlight color over articles is the welcome page color! Non-default fonts = more memorable website for repeat visitors.

Done at https://democraticrobots.substack.com/

(doesn't look great if the welcome page is black and the main page is white, FYI)

just fixed this for you, sorry about that!

I'm having trouble with the Edit your navigation bar. the section for editing each link is off set to far to left so that I cannot access the three dot edit menu on the far left.

elif key's avatar

did you solve your problem? if yes how? :( i cannot edit the navigation bar.

Jimmy Talksalot's avatar

Yes I resolved the problem thank you. I figured out that if I used my laptop instead of my phone and I shrank the screen view, it brought the options into view, and I could then edit.

Thank you for getting back to me.

I think it would be a good idea if Substack could go and adjust this, I'm not sure, but I'm assuming it affects everyone else's accounts also.

thank you so much!

A question I've not yet seen addressed: Can writers customize categories? For example, if I wish to put the focus on the issues of a specific place, is it possible to create new categories that would help focus on that specific place and its issues? Thx in advance.

Tom Matrullo's avatar

This would not seem a hard question to answer. . .
