So far we can't. Not from that link. We have to figure out who they are and find their email address and then write to them that way. For some reason my last paid subscriber's email didn't show up and I had no way of thanking them personally. That's not good.
I'm not up to paid subscribers yet (insisting on hitting 1000 free subs first, for better or worse), but I really want to understand this sort of issue now. I very much want to be able to thank folks.
I don't have a thousand subscribers at either of my Substacks but I do offer optional paid subscriptions. There is a way to write up a canned 'thank you' to paid subscribers and they'll automatically get it when they subscribe, but I still want to thank them personally. And so far there is no easy way to do that.
Yeah, I have already configured my "paid thank you" email or whatever that's called (very similar to my free one right now, but I think that will evolve). I'd love to be able to talk with these folks - certainly the first 100 or so, while it's still sustainable.

can we respond to these?

Me too. I hope they're listening. Just a link to their email would work.
