Thanks. I don't usually feel this way about online media companies, but I'm convinced that substack is different and I'm grateful for this platform and the effort they put into it.
The preview post is very useful. I love the simplicity of this platform, it just leaves extra time and mind space for writers not to have to worry about technicalities.
Thanks, Substack for the updates. Although other writers are whingeing (elsewhere) about the changes to 'Views' reporting, I'm relieved that bug has been fixed. That bug made it seem like tonnes of non-subscribers were viewing each of my posts, then choosing NOT to subscribe, which had me worried. The bug fix has sorted that out, thank you.
Do you know which dates it started to have high numbers that went down now? I always get upset when the readers number count is much higher than my subscribers too
The new homepage header navigation looks great but it also removes the link to the About page from the bottom of individual post pages, and doesn’t show the About and Archive pages up top. This is a bug because then even the About page isn't accessible in one-click in any way on all post pages, which is where most readers directly land!
Wow, all of these new features are incredible and all on a free platform. It doesn't get any better than this! Thank you, Substack. You guys are the best!
Thank you for existing and reaching beyond the other “writing” platforms out there throwing top 10 click bait. I’m super excited to see what other cool things you guys come up with!
Looks good to me. I'll try to use more tables and charts in my articles, because pictures and data tell important stories, often better than a lot of text.
As mentioned in Office Hours today, a big one for me would be the ability to offer Excel spreadsheet for downloading to readers.
It would be great if SS would recommend screen recording programs besides Mac's Quicktime for producing reports and tutorials for subscribers.
Along the way, if SS has done any market research that would help readers see what readers use and don't use (as oppose to what readers want, which readers never can tell you), that would helpful.
Several writers have requested polls. If SS could develop some polling questions that writers can use to evaluate readers' responses to the content, etc., that also would be useful.
I assume that some of the more established and successful services are using Survey Monkey and its competitors to gather customer satisfaction info.
Finally, I wish your terms and conditions for sharing twitter account info were less intrusive. For now, I post all of my articles to twitter, LinkedIn and another site I belong to. I also list my Substack site as my profile on twitter, LinkedIn and SeekingAlpha and some other places.
Is there a Social Media Marketing writer on Substack?
And can you fix the comments search functions so when someone searches for her comments, she gets all of her comments on an article and newsletter, not just one?

As the Internet and social media devolve into new horrors, Substack gets better and better. Thank you all.

As far as I'm aware the 'bug' was always there, Emily. I've been on Substack for around 7 months and it's been like that since I started.
I am particularly pleased about the preview inclusion. This will solve most of my problem. The therapist will have to wrangle with the rest.
Thanks for all the hard work and for continuing to improve!
Audio on Twitter is fun! Cool updates all around.

Thanks for the feedback. That's a useful consideration and I passed this onto our Product team!

Awesome changes. I took advantage of some already. I love being able to share my post with a proofreader/reviewer (my daughter 😁) before it goes live.

Cudos on the Preview and twitter/podcast improvements.
Anyone here remember Bakesale, the fifth album by Northampton, Massachusetts indie rock band Sebadoh, released by Sub Pop in 1994?
Many people are wondering this!
I’m very happy with the new header! Thank you!
You all rock. Thanks for all you do.
