This is so good at making the point to stop trying to second guess the system, the platform, the change in algorithms because they will always change. 💜

Be you and do your thing. The thing that gives you joy - that you love.

Do more of that and celebrate 🎉🤗🎉

I disabled my YouTube algorithm.

I’ve deleted Facebook and Instagram off my phone.

I don’t use TikTok.

I use Snapchat as a casual messaging platform like Line.

I’m mainly on Reddit and SubStack now, and I feel:

Ditto. Love it, you’ve mentioned all the things I’ve removed from my life and yes it feels good. 🙏

Thanks for this information. I’ve been on YouTube for ages, with little ROI. I think a live video series on Substack will suit me and my viewers better.

YouTube removed my ability to comment several months ago accusing me of scamming, spamming and going against their deceptive policies?? What they said to me was a blatant lie since I did nothing of the sort . They did not even point out what the comments were. Someone recently pointed out to me that perhaps a YouTuber did not like a particular comment I made and reported me to YouTube. YouTube removed the subscriptions on my cell phone & TV. leaving me with only viewing priviledges. Several "Appeals were made by me but were denied." Their email to me was if I want to press the issue, hire a lawyer. At 80 yrs of age I'm not doing that...it's not worth it. I've always been a respectful human being and this is like a slap in my face.

On a nicer note, Thank heavens for the Meidas folks. Things have gotten so disgusting with these Republican idiots....whatever are we to do. It's beyond scarry for sure.

Thank you for listening.

When it's business, you're there to satisfy the customer's needs, when it's art, it exists to delight your soul. Nothing more.

Some of us enjoy reading - and writing - prose, and don't enjoy watching video at all! Video requires the watcher to have good vision and quite often, good hearing as well. Transcripts aren't all they're cracked up to be, by the way. So if you want me to see it or know about it, write it down! Not only that, but after watching a video, how much do you have left, how much have you gained, if you failed to take notes? With written prose, your audience has something to hang on to.

Love this! How refreshing!! I'm a geeky clinical person who spent 3 decades practicing in a conventional academic medical system - until it almost killed me. As I'm trying to establish myself in a second career in private practice in this brave new world, I'm finding that my perfectionism is creating self-defeating inertia. All I want to do is gratefully pay forward a personal health transformation in the functional medicine nutrition space. This conversation gives me permission to just get out here on Substack and be my grateful geeky self. The rest will come as I meet clients where they are. Thank you!

Two women who witnessed the murder of Father Donald Martin Ye Naing Win in Myanmar last week recounted how the priest “fearlessly confronted” the armed men who took his life.

In a statement to the pontifical news agency Fides, the two witnesses — who are teachers and parish workers at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in the village of Kangyi Taw — said that when some 10 militiamen, “clearly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs,” encountered Ye Naing Win, they ordered him to kneel.

“I only kneel before God,” the priest calmly replied to the leader of the armed men. He then proceeded to ask them: “What can I do for you? Is there something we can talk about?”

Immediately one of the men struck Ye Naing Win from behind with a dagger that was still in its sheath. However, with this blow he also accidentally hit the leader of the armed group. Already in a drunken rage and because of the answer given to him by the priest, the leader pulled out a knife and began to stab him “repeatedly and brutally in his body and in the throat.”

Ye Naing Win endured the attack silently, “like a lamb led to the slaughter,” the witnesses said.

“Donald did not utter a word or a moan. He suffered the senseless violence without reacting, like an innocent man,” Fides stated. “The other men stood by and watched the murder being committed.”

Once the attack was over “the group of men left the scene,” the pontifical agency added.

The villagers, “amid shock and tears,” retrieved the priest’s body, washed it, and treated it with honor and respect.

The testimony of both women, Fides reported, was recorded and sent to Myanmar’s National Unity Government in exile, which said it was “deeply saddened by the murder of the parish priest Donald Martin of Mandalay” and pledged to “punish the perpetrators of the murder according to the law.”

The People’s Defense Forces of Shwebo district announced the arrest of 10 suspects, who they say belong to “a local defense group.” https://bit.ly/3D8KZbM

I pray for his soul tonight!

Shocking atrocity. At least one day, the perpetrators, will meet the creator of all life and wonderment.

The ideas of long process cooking the duck and being willing to make mistakes on live broadcast made me think of an English food series called 'Floyd on Food' back in 70s or 80s. In one episode he cooked Conch Stew, an old recipe. It took him 2 or 3 days and when it was done he tasted it and ended up throwing the pot of soup out the window...my kind of TV chef, lol!
