At the end of March, we announced a grant program to support writers who have been affected by the economic crisis. Today, we’re proud to announce that 44 writers and creatives from around the world will receive a grant.
congrats on the grant. how hard is it on substack to get subscribers who are willing to pay for a subscription? i am deeply curious because i am considering starting a substack blog but i would find it hard to support myself if i just accumulate free users as i have on other platforms
It definitely takes work. But there is no question that if you produce high quality and useful content that it can be done. These are some of the strategies that I used to get my first 100 paid subscribers:
I haven't reached 1,000 paid subscribers myself, but it looks like maybe 2 years factoring in incremental growth? 1,000 free sign ups occurred in the first month. Hope that helps!
