Really excited to apply for this! Trail Talk has been an extremely fun way to start conversations with fascinating people in the outdoor community. I'd love to take things to the next level!
Only people with 500 subscribers? I am starting The Heart Room soon . It is a meditation space. Could do with 500 subscribers, but my progress is slow. Do you mean that unless one has 500 subscribers the investment isn’t worthwhile?
For this particular intensive, we’re looking at supporting those who already have some experience with podcasting and audio tools, but need help getting to the next level.
This response and link is helpful,, Thank you. I'm new to podcasting but my newsletter is at least 12 years old. I just did it as an audio to test the waters. Response was great so here we go. Good luck to everyone!
Thank you Kelsa. I do have some experience . I trained as a film maker and the Heart Room is open. I’ll be starting conversations with authors in March. Let me know what help I can get. I am interested. Thanks
I signed up, I think …and explained what I have and what I may need help with, but since this message showed up as if answered previously, I’ll redo it. Thank you so much for following up on my comment.
This is a great idea! I can’t wait to see what comes of it. I’ve been considering creating a audio show/column on Substack, but I’m more musician, than long form writer, and I’ve noticed the more popular Substak’s are posting every two or three days. I’m thinking once a week max. Perhaps YouTube is a better match? But I like the Substack model better.
I would still cross post. I'm in the "hoping for 3-4 times a week but realistically can't post more than once or twice a week" department as well but I've noticed that these growing platforms have carry over benefits so it makes sense to post on multiple sites.
In your case, the video could go on YouTube and audio goes specifically on Substack as a podcast with the written transcript as well. That's the model I'm following where I create one main piece of content and chop it up for various platforms.
Newsletters/Blog and TikTok/Instagram/YouTube/Twitter followings transfer amongst each other.
Kelsa@Substack thank you so much. I do have the equipment. I am starting to record welcome and a month’s worth of the meditation programme I want to offer m, but I don’t know much about editing . I got studio 24 and a rode microphone. Learning to use it and make the first recording this month. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I missed applying by the deadline. Will this be a yearly thing or will sound focused intensives occur more frequently?
I ask this because the post pandemic return-to-commute audio boom is coming and that equates to an increase in audio/podcast content demand. I'd love more frequent (if smaller) highlights in office hours for sound focused publications.
Hi, I applied for this workshop. Any updates on the current state of the applications. Will you let people who've been declined know immediately, or will we have to wait till 20 July to know the final decision? Thanks!
This program sounds incredible! When I started adding audio to my newsletter, I saw my open rates shoot up. Now my meditation offerings are my most popular content. I'd love to have support and support others on this journey!
I've got my newsletter ready and primed for this, and I've officially thrown my hat in the ring!
Anyone else submitting their newsletter?
I'm going toss my hat in too! Good luck!
So excited for this!
I'm excited too... I've been doing a daily podcast and getting better, but it feels like I could use some help in the sound department!

Hi Xanda, this sounds like an exciting project! Substack has different programs for different stages of writing and podcasting. That includes starting from scratch (see our Go program - https://substack.com/go?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=cohort_pages&utm_content=community_programs).

Though I'm new to podcasting, my newsletter has been around for at least three years. Just to test the waters, I did it as an audio file. https://substack.com/go?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=cohort_pages&utm_content=community_programs). https://backroomsgame.io
Thank you #Kelsa @ Substack

I'm late to the party, but I'd love to learn more about podcasting on Substack if there's still room.
This program sounds incredible! When I started adding audio to my newsletter, I saw my open rates shoot up. Now my meditation offerings are my most popular content. I'd love to have support and support others on this journey!
I have done a newsletter before, but cannot meet all requirements to join the course.
If our podcast and writing is in french we cannot apply?
