How exactly do you have 5 times my readership exactly? I just went to your Substack profile and it shows that you have 100+ people who subscribe to you.
According to my profile, I have 500 subscribers. So how exactly do you have more subscribers than I do?
My subscribers don’t include the people I have on other platforms.

Who has the chip on their shoulder?
I actually think many more people than I was expecting are subscribing to my Substack. So again, everything you’re saying in that comment is wrong.
Okay, for some reason when I looked at your profile while logged in, this is what I saw. You had 100 subscribers.
I had to access it without being logged in to see that you have 500 subscribers. That’s obviously a glitch with Substack for some reason.
Still, it’s far from clear that we’re somehow all that different. You might want to try accessing my Substack profile differently. If you’re seeing 100+, that’s probably a Substack error.
I’m totally fine. As I said, I am not angry or upset. My previous comments all point this out. This doesn’t mean that I think Substack is doing everything it can or can’t do something better.
We have the video feature but people can’t underline text if they want to. This would be a much easier and less difficult thing to program. Yet they don’t.
Similarly, many people in the film and television group of Substack writers have been asking for a specific category for film and television writers. They already have categories. So it would take a lot less effort to add this.
Yet they haven’t done this. It’s been almost 4 years for me and I believe longer for other people in the category. This doesn’t seem to be in their workflow to get done. But offering a bunch of video and audio features are announced regularly.
I agree with Andrew’s points completely and is a frustration myself and many others have shared. To those criticizing his thoughts, let him state his thoughts in peace. It’s quite simple. If you don’t agree with something, nobody owes you a defense.
Thanks for supporting my views. So long as people aren't being insulting or misrepresenting things, I'm happy to address people's criticisms of my positions. I have put thought into it. But it does make me feel better know when people are willing to support my view on this.
When you say “Yet they were highlighted as a “success story on Substack”. They didn’t succeed on Substack. They were successful people who came to Substack. There’s a difference.” - it’s the same point I made again and again. I love for established and published authors on Substack to be here and gift us all with their writings, but I’d find their writings here nevertheless - because they are already famous and have investors who make it possible to advertise - whilst more starting writers (even published ones) are more difficult to come by.
And also, let’s not forget most Substack doesn’t get indexed on Google so even if I look up my own articles using my pen name and all, they don’t show up 👀
Well I suspect that’s partly how Google itself works. They’re not constantly indexing everything. They do it on a semi-regular basis. So it’s harder for you to get indexed.

Andrew, a word from one who has traversed this Planet for 83 years~~engaging with someone with a shoulder chip is futile.
Nice number flipping. (Eye roll). Everyone can check out that I am correct.

OK fair enough, we are both small fry at the end of the day you just have to deal.

If anything, it’s great material for a story about the “seems to me like…” guy, in which every comment thread as one ;)

Or maybe you both just suck as writers and no one is impressed?
Real talk.
