This week, we interviewed Casey Johnston, who writes She’s A Beast: A Swole Woman’s Newsletter, a publication about lifting weights and a whole lot more.
Casey's newsletter is the bomb. Her breezy style conveys real information useful to everyone, not just about women lifting weights. I've gotten a lot of value during the brief time I've been a non-paying subscriber. Definitely check it out. Well worth your time.
I supplement my intense yoga with weights. Sometimes at the same time. I also teach yoga. And I'm constantly trying to retrain people's misconception of it. My yoga seeks to build strength with agility. But I often end up with people who are barely off the couch thinking they can sit on the floor and stretch and somehow accomplish something (aka kidding themselves). Look forward to learning ways to motivate my yogis to the wonder of working intense and efficient.
As a coach in this field, I gotta say I really resonated with everything Casey shared here. There is so much nuance and context that is failed to be understood in the health and fitness space, and so we are sucked into all-or-nothing thinking. What a great voice and perspective to have, keep up the amazing, impactful work, Casey!
I look forward to these posts! It is so wonderful to meet other writers - and I find most of my newsletters that I subscribe to via these posts :)
