We interviewed Jeremy Anderberg, who writes The Big Read: War and Peace, a publication that guides readers through the Tolstoy classic one chapter at a time.
Great idea. Tolstoy is one of my favourite Russian authors. He's on the same level with Dostoevsky. Will never forget reading War and Peace in the late 80s. I was pulled into the great expanse of Russia, and I had the distinct impression that I was reading one of mankind's greatest books. It's great to have a publication guiding readers through this masterpiece.
Fantastic concept! That seems like a digestible and achievable way to conquer such a read. If this was such a success, I’m excited to see others do something similar. We really should read more!
I was fortunate to be a part of the inaugural BiG Read and really enjoyed the summaries each week and pace worked well for my reading style. I have recommended to others and will continue to do so. Great post on the past and really looking forward to the future (making sure to leave space in my 2023 reading list to include TBR!)
Wow. Everything you wanted to know about substack except what is substack? Sub? Stack? Tells me nothing. Asking does no good either. And yet the people below know all about it. A total mystery for dumbarse me.
I'm currently participating in The Big Read and really enjoying it so far! It's a great concept.
Thanks Emily!

Fantastic! Love what you are doing.
And, did someone say Jane Austen? Lol. Count me in.
(Also: Dickens, Middlemarch ... there are not enough hours in the day!)
Great idea. I wish I had that kind of time....
It truly only takes ~10 minutes per day!

love this!
Atlas Shrugged
It's on my short list!
