Fascinating how simple designs have great stories behind them.

YES! And there’s no words, just the feeling they evoke!

Logos are everything in business, it says everything about the brand...in just a tiny little picture ....how the fuck do you manage that!!!!

So companies try their best, some fail - but some soar!!!!

What’s an iconic logo you think of? Hmm McDonald’s - that’s lame but everyone knows the ‘golden arches’

You see those bitches and you know there’s fries on the horizon

I love logo design, but honestly, unearthing the background has brought much more joy. It's fascinating to see much of the mid-century logo design were expressions significant post-war change such as service/product diversification and modernisation to industrial and managerial practices.

‘Full circle moments’ if you will!

I love seeing the stories behind a creator. It gives a sense of meaning to the creation.

Absolutely. I tend to write from a factual point of view, that's right for the topic, so it's never about me as a writer. This was a great opportunity to share how passionate I am about unearthing these histories.

IMO the Rolling Stones' logo is one reason for their continued popularity.

Merchandise has definitely helped keep them visible. Walked by the Rolling Stones shop on Carnaby street the other day, definitely supports your point.

I'd love a category for design, but we need more writers!

I love this IBM logo. It's amazing how a simple picture can say a thousand words.

Can he look at an Amazon Prime logo and not immediately think of Peyronie's Disease?

Richard Baird's avatar

I definitely did not think of Peyronie's Disease, had to Google it, thanks for that...
