I just celebrated a year of publishing LIVING SMALL on Substack and my community of subscribers grew from a little under 500 people to nearly 5,000: Couldn't have done it without you guys! Thank you for giving writers a place to publish independently.
Not quite the same ball park but I’m delighted to have reached 500 subscribers since starting in Jan, and had my first post with 100 likes the same day. But who’s counting? Thanks for inventing Substack! 😊
I really appreciate all the work to generate connections here, within the Substack community! The folks here are the best.
I know this is a common refrain, but I'll add to it anyway since it's so important: we can all work on discovery outside of the substack network, and I'd love to see more efforts in that direction. Like, I'm super duper stoked that writers here are reading my stuff! It's amazing and I get the best feedback from them. However, I don't know if everyone else realizes this or not, but: writers are broke.
MILESTONE PRESS! My interview with Dan Savage on the Savage Lovecast dropped this week!
We discussed the 8-part series I wrote about my Sister Exes, the women with whom I have bonded over our mutual mistake.
I was so thrilled and impressed that he really read through it, said how much he enjoyed it, and made sure to mention that while the Sister Ex Saga was why we were talking, that my 'stack is about a lot of other things too.
Love this! As a copywriter, writing coach for business owners, and an author, I'm about to begin writing my THIRD book and am using Substack to show how I'm doing everything from planning, writing, and marketing my book from start to finish.
The writing adventure will begin on March 20 (Equinox and the first day of Aries season).
I am a new "stacker" here (did I just coin that?), and I am truly grateful for this platform. I have big goals for year one and look forward to following others!
Hi there! I create nourishing and practical writing resources to help writers at The Editing Spectrum.
We explore both Substack-specific topics around editorial development and also look at ideas for how to nurture a heart-centered, neurodivergent-friendly approach to being a writer online. Come join us. :)
If anyone is looking to stay creative and grow joyfully and sustainable here come join Sparkle on Substack where we explore topics, tools and teaching. Live calls with me twice a month, chat and accountability threads and special resources just for members.
I'm happy to be an official Substack Meetup Host and I'm hosting a comedy writing workshop this Sunday for anyone interested in humor/how to incorporate it into their writing. Here's the link to RSVP if you like: https://lu.ma/nn49q09g
I'm grateful to the team at Substack for shouting out my thread about this idea a few weeks ago and helping me get the word out! My DMs have been filling up with other fiction and comedy writers asking to connect and it's been so much fun. Looking forward to connecting with more of you and hopefully see you on zoom this weekend!

I've definitely noticed a big increase in free subscribers since the recommendations change, that's for sure.
Can’t wait to play with more customizations! Thank you! And congrats to all the growth out there!
My theatre debut is coming up in April at Salford Arts Theatre!
