Will Substack do this via a comment on a post? Probably not.
Will Substack do this if a whole bunch of writers mount a campaign via a series of linked posts based on a keyword - Pridestack, say - to show strength and solidarity? Worth a try. Could be fun.
I'll pass along a couple of requests I've made in the past. First, I wish there was a way to find other television or media-related Substacks. There is a plenty of attention for genres such as Food or Literature, but there's no highlighting of this just-as-important genre.
Second, I'd love to see a way to bundle Substack paid subscriptions. Allow writers to opt into a deal where they agree to take a reduced flat rate in exchange for the ability to be "bundled" with other Substacks. Imagine readers being able to choose three Substacks from a list for $10 per month. Financially, it's not much different than running discounted deals and bundles in any business tends to decrease subscriber churn.
...very intriguing idea. Indeed, for "growth", it is wise to be forward-thinking with innovation and competitiveness. Rick, if you don't receive a response, try contacting Substack via traditional methods. With some thought, your suggestion to "bundle" could really be A Winner. I fact...what if that concept were applied to all news outlets? This is a big, intriguing idea with exceptional possibilities.
Dear Substack team: I appreciate this column, and read it, even though I am a Substack reader, not a Substack author. However, I wonder if there’s not a another column more specifically aimed at Substack readers. Is there currently such a column?
As a daily Substack user I have a number of suggestions for how to make my experience with the Substack app better. Where should Substack readers post suggestions for improving the Substack app? Thanks
That's a really excellent point. A lot of the content is geared more towards writers, but of course, readers are crucial to the success of the site, too. They do have the 'Substack Reads' page, which showcases some of the best writing on here, which you can find here: https://read.substack.com But these announcement articles about new features are probably the best place to post suggestions and feedback, particularly ones that are talking about the app if you have ideas for that. The Team do usually read the comments and will hopefully see it... 😎
Hi, thanks for these additions. I've been including a Voiceover reading with my posts lately, but as far as I understand, do not get any reporting on how many visitors actually listen to them. Any plans in store to include that kind of data?
This post would have been a great opportunity for you to do the right thing and link to or embed my viral meme that inspired you to create "Substack Summer"
It's problematic to take phrases and ideas from the writers on your platform without credit, and extra problematic in this case because I'm a writer & social strategist who names "internet things" for a living.
I agree with the premise but “substack summer” isnt coining anything someone else couldnt have come up with seperatley- especially with all the “brat summer” content and adjacent ____ summer things in the zeitgeist wed seen, on top of the odvious alliteration opportunities. But also let me go back and read the article cuz i jumped straight to the comments and am not sure if they coppied only the term or the concept of your meme
Is there a way to allow "color" or highlights for embedded hyperlinks? The only way to, otherwise, identify my embedded sources is with the auto-underline...or traditional, end-of-content citations.
Along with new tools and features I would appreciate a tech forum that addresses bugs and updates in substack software. I don't know who tell about this but the app for android crashes all the time. It won't run more than a few seconds before crashing and giving me the message that there is a bug in the software. I've deleted it and reloaded it, updated it, cleared the cache and I'm out of ideas. Please tell me who to interact with about this.
Let’s say you’re drafting something but you don’t have all the information. It could be date, location, or even a quote from someone. Rather than waiting for to have all the info, you write “Date: TK” or something similar and continue with your draft. Substack will now recognize that and ask you “Are you sure?” if you try to publish something that still has “TK”somewhere. Hope that helps!
All wonderful, and the Lives are going well. Thank you. On the subject of categories, please, please, please could we have a Home and Garden category? There is currently no home for garden-related writing apart from Design, so potential readers have to try really hard to find it! Thank you Substack....
Hi Leslie, if you use headings (eg H2 in the formatting option) then it will auto generate from those. You’ll notice some small dashes on the left hand side of your article and if you click on those the headings will be listed as your contents. Hope that makes sense!
These latest iterations are great, but the TK notices have been REALLY helpful for me. I usually leave my drafts littered with them, and it's nice to be reminded to clean everything up before shipping a new post.
Love the additions. Would also LOVE to see an LGBTQ category tab. So many great queer creators who would love a home on Substack.
Me too i'm not gay but people who are gay or lesbian are SO Unique like they have such great lives and are the best

Please make the TOC opt-out. I use headings stylistically, not necessarily as navigation points.

Nice to see an image editor in place.
What's a TK? Weird not to clarify or link, I've never heard of that before.
That just means "To Come" - it's an old abbreviation. TK is easier to see/search for than TC.
Thanks. I needed that explanation, too.
I'm still confused by this. People put TK as a heading or something in posts?

Ah, so it's a thing everyone does? I just put [Add more] or [Clarify] or [Get date], whatever the note is. Thanks!
Thanks for asking I was similarly confused, never heard of TK before!
Ah, so that is how its to be used!
That does help! thanks!

Things are getting busy! Nice work guys!
Sir please help me. My Email : nirmoldeb82310@gmail.com
I can't figure out how to make the automatically generated table of contents. Please advise.
Hi Leslie, if you use headings (eg H2 in the formatting option) then it will auto generate from those. You’ll notice some small dashes on the left hand side of your article and if you click on those the headings will be listed as your contents. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks, I never noticed those dashes before. Is that available in the app too or just when reading on a web browser?
If you open up one of your recent posts (https://fastwell.substack.com/p/if-youre-looking-for-health-or-weight) you should see a line with dashes on the left side that you can click into as the table of contents. Note this is only available on desktop at the moment.
These latest iterations are great, but the TK notices have been REALLY helpful for me. I usually leave my drafts littered with them, and it's nice to be reminded to clean everything up before shipping a new post.
LOVE the addition of the TK markers. Thanks, Substack!
