Hi Monica, I responded to Elizabeth above and wanted to be sure you saw it too.
Sorry the framing of the form was confusing. I have update the form and the post to better reflect the purpose of the form, it's more or an in-take form than an application.

You don’t need our permission to host a meetup. We’re simply here to help support those who want to do so with some resources and promotions.
We ask hosts to fill out the meetup in-take form so we can get to know about their hopes and dreams for hosting. We’ll ask you about your Substack publication and any experience you have gathering people. And, we'll also ask you for a starter plan, including a date, for your first meetup.
Our team will review on an ongoing basis and be in touch to connect writers to resources and next steps on promotion. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
So rad. I grew up in Michigan and I was a history teacher, and when I moved to Pittsburgh, I had some kids I advised read Lee Iacocca’s autobiography, “Iacocca”, and his dad actually began that chain. (May have been his grandfather. Can’t remember now.) and as a lover of hot dogs, I am now obsessed with getting out that way. I’m not even a huge Iacocca fan. But hot dogs.
Great, thanks Katie for clarifying. Let me take another look at the post, but I think the most confusing part of the form was that of already having a first meeting planned with date and event link. Of course most people don't have that when they just raise their hand to offer to host.

apologies for ignorance, but what is an in-take form.
That’s still hard to grasp. Like how do we find other writers in our area?
Say where you are here, and maybe other people are around you. I'm in the Lehigh Valley, in PA. Where are you located?
I guess! I’m over in Western PA.
Ahh! I'm in Kutztown, PA. Maybe we need to a central PA substack group?! haha
Sounds like it! Strange question: Do you have a Yocco's hot dogs near you?
HAH! Yeah, not too far from here, really. I think there's two near me.

HAH! I've never even had one, and I've lived around them for the last 2-3 years or so. Maybe someday!
