For me, only allowing paying subscribers to comment is one of the big advantages of substack... It means that I can only get trolled by people if they're paying me! 😂

Yes it really helps for that! And it remains the default. This change just lets the author choose to open it up if they want.

Is there any plans to support custom domains for everyone?

Comments is something Substack needs to revisit. I can't participate in blogrolls or blogging communities because your comments is so jicky. You require people to set up a Substack profile to comment. Then, when they try to comment after that, you require them to update their profile and then .. it still doesn't work. There has to be an easier, less glitchy way to have comments. Also, can't embed code for blogrolls for various event participations within a post. The embed code rarely works. I really wish you'd resolve this!

Is there a place to search all comments for keywords?

I don't publish here, just a subscriber. Where do I find a link that shows my comments posted?

Hello, I'm a comic artist posting one page for day for my subscribers. I would LOVE it if there was an option for people to view posts oldest to newest, and also read them together in chronological order as a thread (I know there is a thread feature, but my format is one post per day). These things will be helpful for later subscribers after I reach 50 to 100 to 300 pages and lots of posts to sort through.

Thank you so much! I love so many things about Substack and it's so great for my work!

Was Biden forced to take a female as a running mate? I believe he was and someone much younger than him to top it off, so she can be the president, if Biden croaks while in office.

Do subscribers have to create an account to be able to comment or does clicking through from the mailing list automatically give them a sort of account?

Hi Nadia--I opened comments on my published letter today and and a generous reader left a note! I have a question...both I and another reader received an email notification about the comment. Is there a way that subscribers can turn off email notifications on comments? Are there instructions/explanations about comments/replies/notifications someplace? I looked, but did not find. Thanks!
