I also like the new video embed (and the existing audio embeds) — and wish that we'd be able to see the data of how many readers clicked on these embeds.
The embedding of *pdfs or ebooks is a wonderful feature. - A wonderful addition would be to establish some sort of exchange: the user leaves their email address and gets the *.pdf sent to that address, but is also added to the mailing list). This is minimally intrusive - and will leave the feeling of a fair exchange especially with older folks who are highly cautious about depositing their email
I'm actually highly familiar with contemporary web programming (Node.js) - but as far as I can see, Substack doesn't provide any way for code to be triggered via the platform. Did I miss something there?
Ah, thanks for the interesting tip. I will definitely have a look at that. - The usecase would be a bit different: The user would fill in a data field with an email address (like on the Substack entrypage) - and then get a *pdf document sent to ths address. Basically, this would be the same as the Entry Page functionality, except that it would be linked to the sending of a document. The programming effort should be limited.
Because I write so much, if I want to scroll back through my past posts either in the dashboard or on the archive page, I have to just keep laboriously scrolling down to see old work. Search works fine but often I'm trying to assess what I've already written about, how long since I've written about a topic, or similar.
"As your publication grows, you’ll increasingly have more drafts to manage and a full archive to sort through. The new posts page streamlines your ability to create, edit, and publish posts. And new functionality allows you to filter and sort your archive of posts with ease."
Substack can revolutionise how writers and creators monetise their work by incorporating an embedded shop feature. Just imagine the convenience of sharing your content, connecting with your subscribers, and seamlessly selling products or services directly on the platform. Whether it's offering exclusive merchandise, access to courses, or even personalised consultations, having an integrated shop within Substack unlocks endless opportunities. How do you envision this feature impacting the Substack community? Would you use a built-in shop to monetise your writing and creative endeavours? For me a tool to better embed courses would be a game changer.
Any future plans for being able to search Notes? The algorithm places us within our existing network, but I have no way to discover other subject matter right now without combing through profiles and Substacks.
I love the new innovations that are being rolled out here, it’s great to be able to explore more ways of sharing and connecting and developing our writing. I would love to be able to embed my substack onto a page of my website, and embed a page from my website onto a page in my substack. I use the sign up embed in my website and would like to see more options for this. It’s slightly too wide for the mobile view so it would be helpful to be able to customise the size.
Please could we have more categories? My newsletter doesn’t really fit into the existing ones. Id like a lifestyle/ slow living category if possible please
Could you please put Scheduled Posts on the front page of the Dashboard? It now requires several clicks and the tab is not easy to find. I look at my scheduled posts multiple times before they are published. Thanks.
Like the idea of embedding the video content I use videos both long form and short form to summarise or discuss my writing so definitely a great idea.

completely agree and how long the videos are watched for would also be useful

Hmm.. registered with Zapier but found out that they do not supprt Substack (which makes my initial proposition all the more desirable)
Thank you for tags, which I've always wanted. And now I have a long slow tagging process ahead of me.
(it would be a lot easier if there was an elegant way to jump backwards through pages of posts rather than with endless scroll)
There are some search tools. Is that what you're thinking or something else? Pagination?

I *think* we just added this to the new dashboard - https://on.substack.com/i/124792690/post-management

Give it a shot and let me know if that helps?
ahhhhh yes that's exactly what I've wanted for a long time, thanks so much
"sort by oldest" is so clutch for me

tags are a good idea in theory but every time I have written an article so far, and I click publish, I am always too lazy to insert tags
It would be nice if an AI could read my article and suggest the top 10 tags for it then I just approve those tags
Agreed! We’ve been building our own library of tags but I don’t feel like I have a clue what other writers are using. Has that changed?
Any plans to let us search the notes/posts of our subscribed newsletters based on keywords or content?
Please can you introduce display of tags on posts
Thanks!
Is something like this what you had in mind, Dave? (Link here goes to a comment elsewhere in this thread.)

Hi Aron
Yes it is at end of posts or somewhere def 👍
It would be awesome if you could add another payment method to receive paid subscription, since stripe doesn’t work in all countries.
Yes, there really needs to be another payment option. I don't use Stripe anymore as I have had serious problems with it.
Substack is on a roll! So many awesome features in the past few months :)
I'd love to see an Android App for writing, not reading, substack. Not sure if one is in the works, but if not, please place this on the list.

Are you thinking searching by keywords/topics or something else?
Yes, just a keyword search.
Excellent. I hope more people from Brazil comes to Substack to support our independent journalism since we're fighting agains the censorship.

I hope so too!!

Yay for the video options! I drop a new one every 10 days. This is exciting.
Thanks for the updates @substack 😊

🔥 Substack is the standard!
