Thanks for this. A fellow author (@Kathy Groth) and I started a Substack a couple of days ago. The goal is to elevate fellow authors and illustrators who create books for kids. The sometimes never talked about creatives’ creativity is mind-boggling. uGROnews aims to spread the goodness. I write poems, book reviews on Goodreads, picture books for kids, and support authors and illustrators via Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators SCBWI). I hope to inspire readers to create and stay curious.

On another note, may I ask a question? I want to start a Substack with a friend who lives on the other coast (I'm East, she's West). Where do I find guidelines for how to do this? Can we both write content and have it appear in the same post? Etc...

Hi Careyleah. There is a place in the Settings > Team where you can add a second person. In our case, Kathy is a "Contributor". There are many good YouTube how-tos and Substack has a chat feature called Ask a Question that is very good at directing users to the right places. Here are the definitions for the team members.

Admin: Full publication access, including all settings

Contributor: Able to publish and edit posts, but can not access publication settings

Byline: Can be listed as an author on posts, but can not publish or access this dashboard

Public: Publicly listed as a contributor to this publication

Private: Not listed as a contributor to this publication

All the best to you and your writing partner.

Joyce
