I have less than 100 free subscribers as of now, which one day are going to shoot to many thousands.

Commenting it so that one day when that happens I can revisit this post and feel what I'm feeling now.

We'll get there. Just keep grinding.

Thank you for this article. I have been heavily considering the 'value-add' aspect of writing for an audience and this was helpful. I also wasn't aware of the boost feature.

I'll be sure to give this greater consideration as I grow.

All of the quotes you chose to demonstrate real world experience are from men. Pretty narrow.

Could you link some examples on media businesses built through Substack?

The boost feature I'll certainly be using and I'm looking over the next few weeks to pushing my subs on further, up to 300 now and time to try and convert some of those into paid subscribers.

I recently just got ripped off by the mysteriously hidden ghost hiding behind two major conglomerates that dont seem to care because they already got my money and i wanted to force thier hand to start investigating on behalf of thier customers.

I bought a gift card at a shoppers drug mart and the money was gone before I had a chance to register it. I notified the store who told me they would investigate blah blah blah nothing was done visa was more helpful but not alot. I want a place to write where every store is afraid of getting on my list of delinquent customer care . Way too many places take our money and just send customers on an internet maze only to get frustrated and give up on the refund. Even my bank has taken this route for complaints. So i was looking for a place where customers can share their stories as a way to vent and bash these stores and help them get compensated as well as the store can defend thier policies as well. How do i go about starting up such a place that could go public like this

It's exciting to think about the potential of carving out your niche, but the challenges are real. One thing that can really help when you're navigating any industry—especially media—is feedback from others. I remember starting out and reading up on different people's experiences before diving in. If you ever face issues with companies or services along the way, it’s helpful to write complaints on PissedConsumer https://www.pissedconsumer.com/blog/2024/10/how-to-write-a-review-on-pissedconsumer-com/ It’s a great way to share your experience, get advice, and also help others avoid the same pitfalls. Getting that community input can be a game-changer in any business!
