media includes writing but not solely focused on it. many people dont read unless theres other media, which i can semi relate with. i think if you think any media platform is going to not diversify in this current capitalistic paradigm... well that might be naive and or idealistic.
i personally like all forms of media, but this zionist propaganda is a bigger problem than multimedia vs just writing.
As I have explored this platform for the last six months it’s clear that the goal is not focus on writings, it is about engagement. It’s the Twitter version of Medium, but it desires to BE Twitter. And not the improved version of Medium that its design initially foreshadowed.
I will admit this is a romantic concept to create something akin to a place for writers to grow and be compensated. But it’s not that. And it’s clearly going farther from it with every update.
Naive? No. The internet needs a place for writers to write AND find an audience without becoming newsletter marketing’s gurus. It’s a real need, not an imagined one.
Am I perhaps being alarmist about this particle piece and update. Yes. I am.
But look around there is a wealth of community here that did not ask for this evolution. They came here seeking something different and we are getting more of the same.
So if you are not writing for media or in the manner of a journalist…Substack isn’t for you. Or me. Or any writer of actual Fiction.
The death of the home for Creators of Story.
why?
