The only SS downside is twofold First, the functionality with commenting on some platforms with a lot of views/comments. It may be due to use of VPN connections, but I have found that on mobile phones, SS can in these cases be nearly impossible to load properly. Secondly, and this is more of a big deal for me, is that like so many online apps they have outsourced help to Zendesk. Zendesk knows practically zero about user/site functionality issues because they are not site programmers who can actually help. We need to put our foot down on outsourcing and especially when there is no other possible way to contact site operators directly. In my case, when I had issues with my site Zendesk actually cancelled my account when I only suggested I might have to if some login problems not fixed. Worse, they cancelled my subscriptions to some great people like Naomi Wolf and returned funds! Now thats downright crazy but something that can happen when you give 3rd parties the keys to the car and might crash the business.
All that said, SS has the best authors anywhere - i.e. if you care to actually learn about the world around you. That's my take anyway, fwiw.
