Can we be honest about the fact that Substack has apparently suppressed links from X too? I used to embed all kinds of things I found there in my Substacks - oddly, these embeds still work in my old posts where they originally appeared. But I can’t do this in my current posts, and it hurts my work. X and Substack are my two most-used platforms, and they refuse get along.

I like so much of what Substack has built here, but I’m tempted to go back to Wordpress just so I can market my writing on X where my audience is 7X larger.

I’ve gotten just 9 paid subscribers from internal Substack referral methods. I write twice a week, I’ve got 2k free subs, but everything is stagnating here. I’m sure there are things I’m also doing wrong, but I feel that the platform is limiting growth because it’s becoming too insular.

I’m feeling frustrated. I’m trying to make the most of what Substack offers, I’ve built large audiences before, but I can’t get traction here.
