I honestly don’t have any besides keep writing. I’m not consistent, I don’t have a schedule, I write when I have something I want to share. It took me 4 years to reach this audience but I never promoted, I’m actually pretty bad in doing so. Good luck to all of us 🙂
I'm the same. Utterly inconsistent and no schedule and aside from sharing posts to social media, never promote. Just hit 516 subscribers over nearly three years. I really need to do better! LOL
I've been writing for 3 years and growth has been slow. What I have recently found to be very useful is engaging with the Substack community. Reading, commenting and sharing the work of others (genuinely) seems to be reciprocated on the platform.
? who, where a, state, still have nonidea whatbor how thisvis working, wen it is working, howvtonget past paying then,, nothing! just frustration.. ok blue arrow.
I just need them to import my mailing list from mailchimp with 100K subscribers so my account doesn’t get flagged and suspended. We imported 2K and they suspended the account for 2 weeks and never responded to our support to help with this.
I tagged Hamish the CEO and his response was that his support is probably not responding to the tickets because possibly the mailing list is spam 😂. The disrespect you get from the CEO of a platform who is begging writers with large following to move their subscribers to Substack.
intersting, help, old and wen my brother was found dead , they pushed sway the phone and started woeking on a cardio . think phone help, cellure one, killed him. jap so high bloodvpreasure plus a detail freek. and needs corect information and results.. lets see blue arrpw to da right to send somewhete!
🙏 First off, I'll say: I've been on Substack for 5 months now, and am elated to see all of the improvements headed our way. There are a few features I've spoken to Katie @ Substack about that haven't been built yet (like adding short descriptions to tag pages) – but seeing all of these great new updates makes me feel like there's hope yet for these requests!
🎙️ All that said, I am VERY open to feedback! If anyone is bored and has a few minutes to spare, please feel free to check out https://read.filmflavor.com/ and let me know if you have any advice -- writing-wise, layout-wise, anything you've got, I'll take it! Feel free to hit "reply" here or DM me!
Serious question, does Substack have a support team? If yes, what’s the standard period to respond to tickets submitted by writers? What is the point of all these features when writers are facing technical issues but support is nowhere to be found.
There is a support team, and the chat support has been the best I’ve ever used, getting it right immediately. Other occasions the support team replied within half a day and sorted it!
Somebody mentioned that it would be good if Substack could become a marketplace for author's books, kinda like Amazon, where an author could provide the necessary files, etc. and Substack could help promote the book, take a cut, etc.
I don't know. I have doubts that it would be a viable option. But hmmmm... what do you think?
One suggestion I have, is if it would be possible to create post categories within a writer’s profile, where readers would narrow down reading to their main topics of interest.
For example, in a cooking profile, readers could choose to filter articles regarding Japanese recipes.
Just hit 1000 subscribers!
Congratulations!
Wow!!! Congrats 🙏🏼❤️ any tips you’d like to share to us writers? ✍🏻

Substack just keeps getting better, keep the improvements coming :)
And their Support keeps getting worse due to their focus on new weekly features.
I've been fortunate enough to not need their support yet (knock on wood).
I just need them to import my mailing list from mailchimp with 100K subscribers so my account doesn’t get flagged and suspended. We imported 2K and they suspended the account for 2 weeks and never responded to our support to help with this.
That's horrible, hope they get back to you and get the import done.

Ouch that's rough, hopefully someone from the Substack team sees this and uses the opportunity to help.
Man, I'm sorry to hear this. I do hope they fix this with you ASAP

TOTALLLLLY!
Lovely! Thanks so much for mentioning the Glasgow meet-up. It's going to be a brilliant night!
Love the new search feature, amazing to browse older posts for references and linking.
So many cool features! Thank you for the all the hard work!
I have 10 more subscribers to go before I hit 500! 💫
Woot. May those 10 come quickly.
4 from 600 here. Not that I've been looking ... 🧐
✨✨✨
I didn’t think I would like video in Notes, but I’m actually loving it. Thank you! 💥
I'm gonna add some Dink-Dink videos this week, provided I simply remember to do it. The process is super easy!
Yay!!!
Post search is a genuinely useful improvement. 💪
Please provide us with more payment options besides tyrannical Stripe.

Welcome! Glad you’re here. I have one of your articles about what movies get wrong about small towns bookmarked.
Wow, thank you so much for checking out Film Flavor :) I'll certainly return the favor!
Celebrating 500+ subscribers!
Writing on Substack has been great personally and professionally

Interesting idea. I hope they explore further.
Love the financial charts integration. 😊

Preview text removal on shareable images is a great tweak. Cleaner for social! 👏🏻
celebrating one year on substack! :)
(and looking forward to the year to come)
great updates, btw.
