As part of our celebration of all things food on Substack, we’re rounding up a diverse selection of publications for food-curious readers to check out.
Quite the cornucopia of writers, if you don't mind the weak pun no one asked for. I'd add one other food writer to this list: Alison East, who writes "Editor & Chef" out of Austin, Texas. My wife and I both enjoy the newsletter for East's obsessive detail-by-detail cooking mind, but also for its insight into her young family and Christian faith.
Rachel Riggs writes a great monthly recipe-driven newsletter at rachelriggs.substack.com. She’s a cookbook author, recipe developer, and former specialty food shop owner. It’s a great read for foodies as well as anyone who likes traditional food publications.
As a cookbook author I have really enjoyed this celebration of all things food and discovering new writers to follow. I am loving Virginia Solesmith's absolutely refreshing anti diet Burnt Toast newsletter.
If you love coffee and/or entrepreneurship and/or the stories of what inspires people to follow their passion, check out the podcast and newsletter: https://roastwestcoast.substack.com/
Also, this is me so...I'm biased, but I just wrapped up the third season (60 episodes!) so there is a lot of content to consume if you're looking for something new. Interviews and coffee education. Season 4 will be expanding into the creative side of coffee.
I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for sharing the blog "What to Read: A buffet of food writing." It's fantastic to see such a diverse selection of food publications on Substack. Just as Substack offers a buffet of food writing, Ya Kun Kaya Toast's Singapore Menu (https://www.spmenus.com/ya-kun-kaya-toast-menu/) provides a delightful array of flavors and culinary experiences. Both exemplify the richness of food culture in their own unique ways, and I'm excited to explore more of both worlds. Thanks again for the wonderful recommendations!
Oh what a wonderful group! I am so honored to be included!
The Spirits is awesome. Richard's writing is 👌

Look for yourself, she has all the right ingredients for a cookbook and a mother's memoir: https://allisoneast.substack.com/
More drink than food, but don’t miss Fingers from Substack Grow grant recipient Dave Infante!

Thank you for including Between the Layers. It’s amazing the wealth of food talent here in Substack!
Thank you for the recommendation!
I write a newsletter on food and culture called Consumed - come for the recipe recommendations and waxing poetic about food, stay for the humor :)
Please consider my piece on all the delicious Iranian foods that Anthony Bourdain missed eating when he went to Iran. Thanks.

Also, I'm a huge baseball fan (go Brewers). Looking forward to reading your newsletter.
